John Limousin

Jean-Claude (John) was born in France, his father, a professional boxer and his mother, a factory worker. Following his parents’ divorce, at the age of 9, he went to live with his grandparents who were poor farmers in central France. There, he came to understand and appreciate the value of hard work. Later, his mother met and married an American military officer in Orleans.

At the age of 15, John came to this country, knowing a few words of English and began as a high school freshman in Ohio. Needless to say, those were challenging times!

Almost immediately, John fell in love with his new country and its people; there were so many opportunities. Following graduation from high school in Ventura, John enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps (although still a French citizen). He felt such a strong connection and patriotism for his new country. Following his Honorable Discharge, John became an American citizen; an extremely proud moment.

Upon the encouragement of a friend, John moved to Sqaw Valley, Ca. to work as a carpenter, building cabins, and racing motorcycles on weekends. Shortly thereafter, he married and moved back to Ventura County.

John started working in the oilfields, as a laborer, and attending evening classes at Ventura College. He was later hired by Shell Oil Co. as a roustabout, beginning a nearly 30-year career and retiring as a General Manager overseeing multiple operations.

In the early years, John and his wife became the proud parents of Ryan (Firefighter Captain) and Rachael (Human Resources Director). Unfortunately, the many relocations and work demands proved to be too stressful for the marriage to survive.

Although John had previously graduated with a BA in Psychology and Business Management, he decided to return to graduate school in Orange County. It was there that John met Candice, a Human Resources executive. John later earned a Master’s and a Ph. D. in Business. John, Candice and her son, Brandon, moved to San Juan Capistrano shortly before accepting a transfer to Ventura County in 2000. Here, they found their piece of paradise in the Ojai Valley. They were then joined by John’s mother, Madeleine.

John has taken a unique path from immigrant to, U.S. Marine, carpenter, oilman, ceramic artist, alpaca rancher and Real Estate Broker. John and Candice continue to find joy in their grandchildren, world travel, and cruising on the Harley!

So, why would John venture into Real Estate as a new profession?

John has built, purchased and sold property in many parts of the country. Real Estate is his natural second career. John got his Real Estate and Notary Public licenses, followed by his Broker’s designation. After a few years with Century 21, Troop Real Estate, John joined Coldwell Banker Property Shoppe, serving Ventura County.

John’s primary focus is to provide services that will exceed your every expectation. He promises dedication to his clients that goes well beyond the transaction process.

Call John with your real estate questions or need without risk of pressure or obligation.

You are promised a responsive and thoughtful relationship with a man who loves helping people fulfill their dreams…, just as his dreams have been realized.
